Terms and Conditions
Please find below a copy of our terms and conditions. We will send you a copy of these along with your booking form. They should be carefully read and a copy should be kept for your records.
All drivers must be aged between 25 and 69 years and must have held a valid UK or EU driving license for more than 2 years.
On collection of your vehicle, you will be required to produce a valid drivers license, a utility bill, no more than 3 months old, and a valid credit card. Failure to produce these will result in cancellation of your rental without any refund.
There are restrictions on the following if you fit into any of these categories please let us know and we can run it past our insurers.
Persons who have any mental or physical defect or infirmity or suffers from fits, diabetes or any heart complaint.
Persons who have had their insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience and/or have had their insurance or cover canceled by any Motor Insurer.
Persons engaged wholly or partly in professional entertainment or professional sports persons.
Jockeys and persons connected with racing of any sort.
Undergraduates and/or students under 25 years of age.
Persons who, whilst driving, have been involved in more than one accident during the past 3 years
Foreign Service Personnel other than persons born in the United Kingdom
The vehicles have fully comprehensive insurance, details which can be seen if requested. There is an excess on the policy of £500. If any damage is caused to the vehicle whilst in your possession this excess is payable by yourselves and will be deducted from your deposit. The vehicles are covered by full AA breakdown cover.
On arrival, a swipe of your credit card will be taken for the sum of £500 to cover your security deposit. This will not be deducted from your credit card unless you fail to return the vehicle at the agreed time, you damage the vehicle or any of the vehicle contents or fittings, you lose or break any equipment or contents, you breach any one of our terms or conditions that incurs a surcharge.
The vehicles are to be used in a responsible manner. They are to be driven sensibly and legally and only by drivers who are named on the insurance documentation. They are not to be driven in a reckless manner. If they are returned to us and we believe that damage has been caused due to neglect then a surcharge will be taken from your Security Deposit.
During the hire period you will be required to carry out a daily check which will be explained to you on collection of the vehicle.
We will not be held responsible for any individual who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs which then results in damage being caused to third parties or to the vehicle, or any individual driving off road. The customer will fully indemnify Happy Highland Campers against this in respect of all claims. We also hold the right to cancel your rental if we believe that you are either under the influence of alcohol or drugs. You will not be refunded any payments.
Police Fines/Penalties/Parking Tickets
Whilst hiring the vehicle you are liable for any fines incurred for traffic violations, penalties or parking tickets.
Theft of Vehicle
If the vehicle or any contents of the vehicle are stolen whilst in your possession, it is your responsibility to inform us and the police as soon as possible. You will co-operate with the police and ourselves and not hinder the investigation in any way.
We ask that you do no more than 600 miles per week, this is averaging 100 miles a day and trips shorter than one week should base their trip on the daily mileage restriction of 100 miles per day. Any mileage over this will incur a surcharge, taken from your security deposit, unless authorized by prior arrangement.
A spare set of keys will be held by us at all times. If you lose a set of keys it is your responsibility to pay for a new set to be cut and to collect the keys in person from our premises.
Vehicle Standards and Conditions
The vehicle will be kept in an excellent condition and should be returned to us in a similar state. The vehicle will be hired out to you with a full tank of petrol and should be returned to us with a full tank. Failure to comply with either of these conditions will result in a surcharge taken from your security deposit.
8 weeks prior to holiday Full hire fee refund. No deposit refund.
6-8 weeks prior to holiday 50% hire fee refund. No deposit refund.
Less than 6 weeks prior to holiday No refund.
If for any reason we need to cancel your holiday we will try to make alternative arrangements. If this fails a full refund, including deposit, will be offered.
Complaints should be made in writing and sent to Happy Highland Campers 25 Telford Gardens Inverness IV3 5LG. No refunds will be given in cash or in person.
